Super Meat Boy 6-5

When it comes to how difficult a level is in super meat boy there are usually several aspects to determine how tough a level is. Some of the aspects include is how long the level is, the level having lots of obstacles, if the level has a light world or dark world counterpart or how fast paced the level is. Some of the hardest levels in the game have a focus on one or a combination of these aspects. For example The Kid from I wanna be the Guy warp zone is a hard level because of how long it goes on for and having to go back the start of the level if you decide to exit it. The Cotton Alley levels tend be difficult by filling the levels full of various obstacles like buzz saws, spikes on the walls, disappearing and reappearing blocks. Having to collect any bandages can make any level more challenging however once they are collected the difficulty can go down somewhat. Difficulty of a level can also be affected by playing as characters that are not Meat Boy.

Hard levels

7-20, 7-20 X, 6-5 Omega, 7-19X XOXO, 5-17X Millenium, 5-18X Stain, 5-20X Quietus, 7-18X They Bite, 4-16X Starless

Super Meat Boy is a Platformer game developed by Team Meat in 2010 for the Xbox 360.

Super Meat Boy... Rage Inducing EPICNESS
Let me just start out by saying... I have a VERY short temper, and its only affected when it comes to gaming... but when I say that this game is RAGE INDUCING, I mean... this game will cause your blood to boil and your brains to fry. Yet, it's so difficult to put the controller down and just say no...
Graphics- 9/10
Super Meat Boy has become one of our top iconic indie games ever, it's been played thousands upon thousands of times... and even it's main character is used as an emoticon on Twitch.TV... but for those who have never played this game, I recommend you play it RIGHT NOW. This game is just outstanding, the blood effects of your Super Meat Boy exploding when slamming into spikes or getting squished into absolute nothingness... is just amazing, it's a game that has a lot of texture and design to it. The backgrounds are interesting, the music is amazing and the design is just hilarious. Let me start out by saying, I was addicted immediately... at first, it was challenging... but then it was almost downright impossible. But back to the graphics, it's very vibrant in color... the shapes and symbols in the game are highly detailed, and even your character itself has a good detail and outlining to it. Along with the fact that every time you move, you leave a nice bloody meat trail all over the place... and when you explode, you leave a mess everywhere you exploded. It's exciting, challenging, and a real pain in the neck if you play it for so long...
Sound- 8/10
Now, this game is actually popular, and is highly loved by so many people who become literally obsessed with this game. The sounds of this game is also intriguing, not only do you hear the sound of Super Meat Boy literally exploding when he dies... but it sounds so realistic. Like, take a giant lump of hamburger meat, and just slam it onto the table... that's pretty much what Super Meat Boy sounds like when he dies. Along with that, you also get the sound of his movements... which sounds like gloops and glops when he runs across the ground and up the walls and into spikes. It's pretty much like listening to your food going completely nuts, and it's hilarious to hear when Super Meat Boy can't run up the wall correctly... or when you try and jump, but end up missing it's like a loud sigh.
Addictiveness- 10/10
Now this part I wanted to get to, this game is more than addictive... it needs like a 50/10 rating for addictiveness. Not only do you have about 25 basic starting levels (each getting harder as you go), but then you also have DLC (downloadable content) that adds on even more levels... so you get about 100+ levels to play through, and die in. It's exciting to see if you can actually jump fast enough, dodge rockets, dodge spikes, dodge fire and lasers... dodge pretty much everything. It's mostly a side-scroller sort of game, but it adds so much flare and amusement to it. But, like I have said before... this game will cause you to rage (if you can't control your emotions), I didn't play this game for more than 5 minutes and it had already upset me... almost to the point that I wanted to take my TV and throw it out the window. This game is just that amazing, it's colorful... it's challenging, it's amusing... and it's even more irritating when you get stuck on a EASY level. Imagine playing Super Mario World... you have spikes that can kill you, and then you fall off the screen... but on here, when spikes kill you.. You explode into a bloody meaty mess all over the place that you died. Sure, it's a bit of a violent game I suppose... but you have to look at it this way, you're a giant wad of hamburger meat (or something similar). It's just... hilarious and irritating at the same time.
Story- 6/10
Much like Mario, the story is simple... your girl gets taken away by someone, and you have to rescue her. That's pretty much what the story is, you have to go through so many levels before you can finally get your girl... she'll generally be on the other side of the level, and when you go up to her, the bad guy (forgot his name... sorry), will take her away again... and then you'll have to do another level. It's pretty much an endless phase of trying to get your girl, but ending up chasing after her again once your rival has kidnapped her. It's a hilarious concept really, two meat wad looking things are in love... and some other meat wad looking thing takes your love away. To be honest, Super Meat Boy is like Meatwad from 'Aqua Teen Hunger Force'.
Depth- 8/10
Well, this game has so much to offer... but at the same time, it's always the same sort of offerings. All you really get from this game is a bunch of levels to test your controls on, and to see how strategically fast you can be. As far as I know, there is NO time limit... but you are being timed on how long it takes to finish the levels. This game has at least 50 or more levels to play through after downloading the DLCs and other stuff... but without DLC, you get at least 20 levels to run all over the place and make a bloody meaty mess everywhere. It's sort of child friendly, I suppose... but that is if you can explain to your child that it's nothing more than a wad of hamburger meat trying to save it's hamburger meat girlfriend. It's funny, it's fun, it's challenging, it's rage inducing, and it's... addictive, to be honest... I wish I could play it again, but sadly... my friend won't let me play his Xbox 360 cause he's a jerk.
Difficulty- 8/10
Depending on how far you get in the game and how well you know the controls, really determines how difficult this game is. For me, at first... it was sort of easy, but at the same time... I died like 25 times because I couldn't wall jump correctly and I couldn't figure out how to go from one side to the other over a giant pit of death. Then as I got further and further into the game, it had become so complex... that I almost broke the controller from frustration and annoyance on how difficult this game was. Pretty much, this game becomes so difficult as you progress... but if you know what you're doing and you're able to stay calm... then you can probably beat the game without breaking something. In total, I've died at least 5000 times playing that game... but it was worth every second of it, the game was just that amusing.

He actually handles pretty much like from his own game: N+. The Ninja is faster than Meat Boy on the ground, but a lot slower in the air. N+ is a game for Xbox Live Arcade, DS and PSP. The prototype n is available for free for PC, Max and Linux from the link below. Check out N+ if you like Super Meat Boy. They are similar in many ways. Although Super Meat Boy is a simple yet great looking game with many fantastically designed levels, I feel like the game 'cheats' too much.
